2007-8-1  Almost all hay is cut with similar machines to this anyway now. Theres nothing better to be mowing along with a drum mower at 15 MPH. Sickle bars you are down to about 4 MPH (To slow for my liking) And old ones are a PITA once they start getting broken or when they keep on getting clogged up.

2021-1-22  I ran the Reese drum mowers for several years. Yes they would be heavy for a 35 hp tractor but they are almost impossible to wear out. We had the tedder attachment on them and almost never had to use the other tedder. The Reese mowers are easily adjustable for stubble height.
